"When this album breaks the rules, it doesn't do it on purpose, it does it because it doesn't care... just deciding that you actually can do the things you want to do and you don't have to do the things you don't want to do." - Merton, RateYourMusic user
something i observe about being part of a modestly successful rock band with a shitload of my friends is that people start talking about "connected artists." you listen to midi bunny, you get recommended, say, A.J. Vega, or Ida Deerz. because those people are our friends, and we work together, and we're linked by metadata.
we are young. we all want to make history. we all want to be part of history. because we are young, and we don't know what history is. history is looking back. "scenes" become fixated on a past that isn't the past yet. writing one's own wikipedia page, with all your friends as blue links, and references to fawning articles critically appraising you and your work.
we're living right now, though. it's not history yet. i don't want to spend my days living inside of history. i want to make music with my friends, and have fun, and make people happy, and make people dance.
there is no MIDI Bunny scene. there isn't even really a MIDI Bunny clique. we're a bunch of nerds spread out across like five groupchats who send each other furry art. we're not gods, we're not mythic figures of fantasy.
we're just having fun with our friends. and so can you.
here are some pop rock/house songs about various subjects. mormonism. dying before your prime. video game furries. it's not even a concept album or anything. - bea
