Hi, my name is Shin, and this is my album. It's a rock album about being a good bunny.

When this album comes out, I'll be 23 years old. That means 23 years ago, my mother gave me the name, "Shinwoo." Shin (信) comes from the Chinese word meaning "faith" or "to believe". She gave me this name for religious reasons, so for many years, I struggled to come to terms with it. But today, I'm proud of the name. I'm called Cecily to my friends, but some call me Shin offline.

To me, the word faith is not just a religious or spiritual one. It means faith in my friends, faith in my partners, faith in other people who love me and whom I love back. I need to have faith in this world and the people who live in it if I want to keep having hope.

My previous two albums often dealt with themes about loneliness and suicide. With this one, I wanted to talk about how grateful I am for the people in my life. I wanted it to be one about friends and lovers and everyone in between.

This record is separated into three different albums. This one, "Shinwoo I," is the main project, and can be considered my statement as previously mentioned. Please consider the other two albums, "Shinwoo II" and "Shinwoo III," to be extra projects made for fun, separate from this one.

With this "triple" album, I am wrapping up an era of my life. As of this May, I will have to serve under South Korea's mandatory conscription system. I don't want to go into details here, but I'll be active on the internet and continue my musical projects. However, I am declaring now that solo efforts as Cecily Renns are over for the foreseeable future. You'll be able to look forward to MIDI Bunny albums and other miscellaneous projects, but I want Cecily Renns to be left off with these 6 albums I've made over the past 3 years.
